Hi Friends and Hardware Enthusiasts.
As I reflect on how fortunate I am to be living in Tampa Bay and able to work with such friendly designers and architects in the Florida design community I thought I would share some insight on a company I have great respect for, Accurate Lock and Hardware.
From the time I entered the decorative hardware industry out of a small New England college in 1986 I have relied on their superior products and staff knowledge for many projects during the course of my career. Still a family run business for close to 50 years I recall visiting their original building quite some time ago watching their craftsman make all sorts of locks and lock parts. Today there are 5 buildings making many items such as Pivots, Harmon Hinges, Custom Strikes and high security locks in all shapes and sizes. They also produce elegant door knobs and levers for projects across the globe.
Accurate Lock and Hardware has always been my go to for any hardware obstacle. Somehow they always have just the solution. I found myself on many retrofit projects over the years as well as historical preservation projects. Some of my favorite past projects we worked together on included the refurbishment of old mortise locks with restored glass knobs. They have the ability to recreate, reproduce and find beauty as I do in preserving the past. On another occasion they manufactured at my request a 36" tall deadbolt which was provided to the designer to satisfy their needs.
But, as mechanical locks have evolved, so has interest from contemporary interior designers searching for sleek contemporary lines. After launching their SilentPac magnetic locks where designers can create a seamless look without a visible strike, Accurate Lock and Hardware recently introduced their trademarked SmartEntry lock system. Compatible with their mortise lock configurations and handles of your choosing, you can control your locked home from anywhere in the world.
